Why this happens
It’s usually caused by:
Using multiple email apps at the same time
Many devices polling your inbox frequently
Provider-side throttling (common with Google and Outlook)
Marco only downloads message text (not attachments) and is designed to stay well within provider limits—but if another client is syncing aggressively, your provider may apply a temporary limit.
What Marco does
Marco automatically retries after a short back-off period.
No action is needed unless the issue persists.
How to prevent it
Reduce the number of apps connected to your mailbox
Disable older clients you no longer use
Check for devices that might be polling your account without your knowledge
If the rate-limit doesn’t clear after a few hours, contact your provider or reach out to us at [email protected].
