How to create an app-specific password for Apple

To connect your iCloud or Apple Mail account to Marco, you’ll need to generate an App-Specific Password. This allows Marco to securely access your mailbox using IMAP.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.

  2. Under Sign-In and Security, select App-Specific Passwords.

  3. Click Generate an app-specific password.

  4. Enter a label such as “Marco app” and click Create.

  5. Confirm your Apple ID password if asked.

  6. Copy the generated password and paste it into Marco when connecting your Apple account.

Note: This requires two-factor authentication to be enabled on your Apple ID.

That’s all you need to securely connect your Apple email to Marco.
